Alia Bhatt tests positive for coronavirus, says ‘I have immediately isolated myself’

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has tested positive for covid-19. The information was shared by the actress herself on her Instagram story. 

“Hello all, I have tested positive for COVID-19. I have immediately isolated myself and will be under home quarantine. I am following all safety protocols under the advice of my doctors, she said. The actress also thanked concerned fans in her post as she added: “Grateful for all your love and support. Please stay safe and take care.”

This comes days after her boyfriend tested positive. The actor has now recovered, as confirmed by his uncle Randhir Kapoor. Notably, recently, Alia’s Gangubai Kathiawadi director Sanjay Leela Bhansali had also tested positive. Both had been shooting for the film in Mumbai. 

Just days after it was revealed that Ranbir had contracted the virus, the actress had shared via an Instagram story that she as in isolation for days and had tested negative.

“I’ve been reading all your messages of concern and care. I have tested negative for COVID-19 and after isolating and speaking with my doctors, I am back to work from today. Thank you for all your good wishes. I am taking care and staying safe. You please do the same,” Alia had posted on March 11.

Of late, many Bollywood celebs have fallen prey to covid-19. Milind, R Madhavan, Aamir Khan, Kartik Aaryan, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Manoj Bajpayee and Ranvir Shorey among others are some actors who have tested positive for the virus in the recent past. 

Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia has a number of project that she is currently working on. Besides shooting for Gangubai Kathiawadi, the actress also recently released her first look from RRR. She also has a film coming with boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, titled Brahmastra. The film has been helmed by Ayan Mukjerji and also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles.
