New Delhi (Anish Yande): Telecom operators Airtel and Vi (Vodafone Idea) have announced special COVID-19 plans for its users. Previously Reliance Jio had introduced plans for its customers struggling financially due to the impact of the pandemic. Check new offers from Vi and Airtel here.
Vodafone Idea Offers:
Vodafone Idea has offered its Rs 49 pack for free for its customer base of 60 million in the low-income category. One-time offer of Rs 49 pack consists of talktime amounting to Rs 38 and data of 200 MB for a validity of 28 days.
Charges of local and national calls are at Rs. 0.25 per second. Vodafone Idea also offers an extra 200 MB to the Rs 49 plan.
Airtel has made the Rs 49 prepaid plan for free through its one-time offer. The prepaid plan offers a prepaid plan of a talk time amounting to Rs 38.52 with a data of 100MB. The validity period of the Airtel plan is 28 days. Users would be charged Rs 0.50 per MB once the data is exhausted.
The telecom operator has also announced a new Combo Voucher Rs 79 plan which provides double talk time benefits. The updated prepaid plan comes with Rs 256 of talk time and 400MB of data. The validity for the Rs 79 plan available for 56 days,
Rs 49 plan will be free of cost for its 55 million low-income group customers as a one-time gesture. The benefits amount to benefits worth Rs 270 crore, according to the telecom operator.
The offers from Vodafone Idea and Airtel follow after Reliance Jio announced its free offers for its low-income customer base. Jio would be providing 300 free minutes of outgoing calls per month to Jio Phone users, who are not able to recharge due to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Along with the Reliance Foundation, Reliance Jio would offer 10 minutes per day to the Jio users for the entire period of the pandemic.
