Ahmedabad: The CBI court has given a big decision in the famous Ishrat Jahan encounter case of Gujarat. The court has held that Ishrat Jahan was a terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The court has acquitted Girish Singhal, Tarun Barot, who was an officer of the Crime Branch. The court also acquitted Anju Chaudhary, a current SI of the Crime Branch.

The court said that there is evidence that Ishrat Jahan was a terrorist of the Lashkar-e-Taiba. Crime Branch officials performed their duties.

Ishrat Jahan, Javed Sheikh, Amjad Ram and Zeeshan Johar were killed in a police encounter on June 15, 2004 near Kotarpur Waterworks in Ahmedabad.

It was said that these people are Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists and had come with the intention of killing then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

However, in the case, Ishrat’s mother and Javed’s father had filed a petition in the High Court demanding a CBI inquiry. Several top police officers were arrested in the case.
