Cricket fraternity paid wealthy tribute to Mahendra Singh Dhoni after he introduced his retirement from worldwide cricket on Saturday. The wicketkeeper-batsman posted a video on Instagram to declare the information relating to his retirement.

Australia talisman Steve Smith, who performed alongside Dhoni in Indian Premier League for Rising Pune Supergiants in 2016 and 2017, posted a heartfelt notice for the previous India captain on Instagram.

“Congrats @mahi7781 on an amazing international career. You were an incredibly tough opponent and a player that I always admired. It was an absolute pleasure to play with you for a few years at Pune and getting to know you a bit. You are a true gentleman and I wish you all the best in retirement,” Smith wrote.

Dhoni and Smith each performed below one another’s captaincy through the time at RPS.
