Jaipur: Four people, including three children, were charred to death after a massive fire broke out at a Turpentine oil factory at Jamwa Ramgarh in Jaipur, Rajasthan on Sunday. There bodies were recovered after the flames were brought under control by the fire brigade officials.
As per reports, the children who died in the incident were aged between 2 and 5 years. The fire in the factory spread like a rage and firefighters as well as civil defence team took around four hours to douse the blaze.
“Three children and a man died after a fire broke out at a Turpentine oil factory in Jamwa Ramgarh, Jaipur. The fire was brought under control,” CO Shiv Kumar was quoted as saying by ANI.
A lot of workers were employed in the factory and their families including children were also there. As soon as the fire broke out people started rushing for safety that lead to a stampede-like situation.
A report by The PinkCity Post said three children identified as Divya (2), Garima (3) and Ankush (5) were trapped in the fire. To save the children, nephew of the factory owner Ramesh Arya alias Kalu (25) rushed inside, but he too got trapped and was charred to death.
Several other people sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. As per initial reports, there was a short circuit in the factory that caused the massive fire.
Goods and property worth several lakhs were gutted in the blaze.
