New Delhi:

Four 10th standard students were chased down and stabbed outside a school in East Delhi on Saturday, in a brutal knife attack that left the teenagers critically injured, said the police.

Having just given their 10th standard examinations at Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, located in East Delhi’s Mayur Vihar area, the students were leaving the school premises when they were chased down and attacked by a group of boys from a different school, who came after them with knives.

Much of the 10th class, having just given their exams, were witness to the scene. School students close by reported that, in order to save themselves, the students ran towards a nearby park with the perpetrators fast on their heels, when the four were caught and stabbed.

The 10th graders have been identified as Gautam, Rehan, Faizan and Ayush. Studying at Government Boys Senior Secondary School Trilokpuri, the four boys were only at the Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya centre for their exams.

Following the incident, other students near the site of the crime rushed the four boys to Delhi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. Witnesses report that, at the time, the boys had lost a fair amount of blood.

In the ensuing chaos outside the government school, anguished cries were heard from the mother of one of the students wounded in the stabbing, as Pandav Nagar police arrived on site. Traces of blood were found by the police at many places in the park.
